The Cadden Family Vineyard is a pristine, sustainably farmed 6 acre vineyard planted in 2007 in the North Eastern corner of the Napa Valley appellation, situated on a subtle south facing slope at 800 ft. elevation. There was one dedicated acre of clone 1 Sauvignon Blanc on the property, planted in rocky clay loam soil.

Our 3rd and final vintage of Sauvignon Blanc from this vineyard was the lowest yielding to date. The Sauvignon Blanc was hand harvested on the morning of August 25th, 2017. After crush, the juice was put into stainless steel to begin a cold, native yeast fermentation. Once complete, the wine was transferred into neutral French oak barrels which added some subtle spice notes and texture. On April 20th, 2018 the finished wine was bottled. 47 cases were produced.

The wines profile is similar to the previous vintages but has a profound tropical flavor profile in addition to the melon and citrus. Golden hues were brought out from it’s time in barrel, quickly earning it the nickname “Liquid Gold”.  Aromas of orange zest and haystacks followed bright acidity, stoney minerality and subtle spice notes dominate the finish of this beautiful Sauvignon Blanc.
