“We’ve been excited about this Chardonnay since the moment we were able to establish a relationship with this incredible vineyard. Throughout the entire process from fermentation to barrel tastings and bottling, our level of excitement has only grown, and this wine really exceeded our expectations.”

Purpose

Over the past couple decades, Sonoma Coast established itself as a benchmark for world class chardonnay, and our appreciation for the quality and vibrant style that this terroir can achieve prompted us to pursue this project. This vineyard parcel, in western Sebastopol is planted to the Wente heritage clone, originally brought from Burgundy in 1912 and recognized for it’s unique fruit and floral characteristics.

Production

The chardonnay was harvested on September 8th, 2022 during the cool break of dawn, barrel fermented in one year old French oak barriques, underwent partial malolactic fermentation and was bottled unfiltered on July 18th , 2023

Tasting Notes

An incredibly vibrant wine, with flowery, tropical aromatics, jasmine and honeysuckle, dried mango and baked apple. On the palate, a luscious texture laced with candied lemon, pineapple, yuzu, quince and subtle nutmeg and hazelnut on the mouthwatering finish.
